Trump Tantrums

Oh joy, another opportunity to pile on the Trump-bashing bandwagon. How original. The latest EU tariffs debacle is just another example of... wait for it... everyone's favorite scapegoat: Donald Trump. Because, of course, it's always his fault. Never mind the complexities of international trade or the EU's own protectionist policies. No, let's just blame the big bad orange man. The so-called "experts" and pundits are having a field day, tutting and shaking their heads at Trump's supposed "infantile diplomacy". How quaint. As if they've never heard of, say, the EU's own history of trade wars and protectionism.

The EU's longstanding ban on American beef, because, you know, hormones are scary.
The EU's blatant disregard for WTO rules, because, hey, who needs international law when you're a big boy like the EU?
The EU's cozy relationship with China, despite the latter's dubious human rights record and blatant intellectual property theft.

But hey, let's focus on Trump's mean tweets instead. Meanwhile, the gullible masses are lapping up this narrative like the good little sheep they are. Influencers and "thought leaders" are chiming in with their hot takes, completely unaware of the underlying issues. It's almost as if they're more interested in virtue-signaling than actual analysis.

Like that one "expert" who claimed Trump's tariffs would "devastate" the US economy, despite the fact that the US has been running massive trade deficits for decades.
Or that other "expert" who said the EU would never retaliate against US tariffs, because, you know, the EU is always so reasonable and level-headed.
And let's not forget the Twitter blue-checks who are still whining about "global economic stability" despite the fact that the global economy has been a mess for years, long before Trump took office.

It's a never-ending circus of nonsense, and we're all just along for the ride. But hey, who needs facts when you have feelings? The horror stories are already rolling in: "The tariffs will destroy the global economy!" "Trump is a madman!" "We're all doomed!" Oh please, spare us the drama. The sky has been falling for years, and yet, somehow, we're all still here.

Like that time the "experts" predicted a global recession due to Brexit, and it never happened.
Or that other time they said the US economy would collapse under Trump's presidency, and it just kept on growing.
And who could forget the infamous "Fiscal Cliff" debacle, where the "experts" predicted doom and gloom, and it all just fizzled out?

It's time to stop drinking the Kool-Aid, folks. The emperor has no clothes, and it's time someone said it.
